Sorry it's been a couple weeks since I posted anything but I've been super busy.  Keith and Jennifer went out of town for a few days and we watched all the kids...which kept me VERY busy!!!    Last Sunday we were blessed with 42 in the morning service!!!  On Thursday evening we had 9 here for Bible Study which was a blessing!!!   Due to the Icy Road conditions we were unable to have services today.  We actually have had our first significant ice and snowy conditions last night and today.  The wind is suposed to pick up tonight which will cause drifts and blowing snow.

There are 2 ladies that need prayers.  Ms. Joshua (she is 80+ yrs. old)fell Thursday and fractued her elbow and broke her hip. They did surgey and put a pin in her hip and she will need physical therapy.  Another lady that lives behind us was in a terrible car accident right after Christmas and was in ICU for several weeks and has now been transferred to another hospital.  We visited her yesterday...she is still in critical condition and needs our prayers!!  Also, the father of one of the little girls that comes to church died from alcohol poisoning....such a waste of a life.  So sad!!!  Remember this little girl and the family he has left behind.

It amazes me at how the Lord supplies for us in some of the most unusual ways.  Wednesday was Food Bank delivery day.  After the delivery came, Doyle was over at the church sorting out the boxes and someone knocked at the church door.  It was the Reservation Game Warden.  He asks if we could use any Elk Meat.  Of course Doyle told him Yes and told him that we had a Food Pantry.  Well.....he said that there was an overabundance of Elk up toward Minot and they had gotten some and taken it to Mobridge and processed it and were giving it away.   They were going to just leave us 1 box but since we had the Food Pantry...they left us "3" boxes which totaled almost 200 POUNDS of FRESH Elk MEAT  (steaks, roasts, ground..ect)!!!!   Praise the Lord...He sure is good to us!!!!!!!!   I had never tasted Elk meat until our friends from Dulce, NM brought us some...and it's really delicious..especially cooked on the grill.

Lord willing and weather permitting, Doyle and I will be taking 3 days off this week for a much needed rest together. It will be the first time in 4 years that we have been anywhere together other than Bismarck!!  We are so Thankful that the Lord sent Keith and Jennifer so this possible.  Before we could not leave the property for fear of vandalism.  We are sooo excited and are going to enjoy the time away together.

Thanking the Lord for ALL he has done,

Sis. Sheri

Urgent Prayer request!!!   Keith and Jennifer's 2 yr. old Foster Son has been in the hospital since Friday. At first they thought he had pneumonia....turns out he has a very BAD case of RSV.  He's been on oxygen and they will not release him for 24 hours AFTER he had been without Oxygen.   Today he started running a fever again so they will do Xrays and check for pneumonia.    Please pray for Kaden.

Yesterday Katelyn (Keith and Jennifer's 22 month old daughter) started running a fever so Jennifer took her to the hospital and Kadens Dr. checked her out and he's pretty sure she RSV also.....but her oxygen level was Ok so there is no need to hospitalize her at this point.  Please Pray for Katelyn that she will not have to go in the hosital !

Also....Saturday/Sunday Lexi (our 3 yr. Old Foster daughter) was sick and running a fever.  So....Sunday morning, with Jennifer at the hospital with Kaden, me at home with Lexi....we were unable to run the Van for Sunday School because there is no way one person could have handled 35 or so kids from the age of 3-11 by themslves (the Deasons did not come).  But there was church for the adults with 6 in attendance.  Keith did teach all our kids a Bible lesson.  Lexi is better today...Praise the Lord!!!

So 2012 started out a little rough for us....but we are praising the Lord that He is able and His Grace if sufficient ALL the time!!!!   Please keep all of us in your prayers....this RSV is a rough Virus and Kaden may be in the hospital for several more days.

We are Thankful for all the blessings from the Lord in 2011 and look forward to this new year serving the Lord in Cannon Ball!!

Sis. Sheri       (oh yes.....Doyle made it home fine!!)

This past Sunday we set a record high on Sunday morning with 50 in attendance and 30 on Sunday evening (and we didn't have anything special to help set this new record)...PRAISE THE LORD.  It looked sooo good to see the church full of people!!!!  There were 2 new visitors and another lady has been coming regular and bringing her 2 grandaughters!!  The Lord is really blessing and giving us good services.   One of the 11 year old girls that has been coming for a long time, got saved this past Tuesday evening.  Please pray for her because neither of her parents come to church.   There are others that we are praying for...children and adults that are coming faithfully that need the Lord.

We have been very busy the past week with the Food Bank....it is such a wonderful outreach and gives us many, many opportunities to witness and invite them to church.  They all promise they will come and someday the Lord is going to remind them of that promise and the church will be overflowing!!!!!  What a blessing that is going to be!!!!!!!!

September 4th-7th will be our 1st revival and we are very excited about it.  Bro. Rome Wager will be the guest speaker along with others.  Please help us pray that the Lord will bless and souls will be saved.  We would love to see some of our supporters come up for this revival!!!!  There is plenty of sleeping room here on the property...may not be a Hilton or even a Ramada ...but it would be comfortable.

Excited to be serving the Lord in Cannon Ball,    Sis. Sheri

We had a very good attendance with 40 in the morning service and 32 in the evening!!!   I think that's our record for a Sunday evening.   This past Friday was the last day of school for the Cannon Ball School so our summer has "officially" begun.  Some of the others that were sent away to the Indian Boarding School will be home this Friday and we're looking forward to seeing them.  Natassia called (from the boarding school)  yesterday saying how excited she is to be coming home.  She is such a sweet girl and we have missed her alot.

Prayer requests......continue to help us pray about the addition to our building.  We want the Lord's will done in everything we do here.   Also pray for 2 of the children here.....Xavier is possibly going to be sent to a Boys Home for troubled children.....Angie (little Angie not Grandma Angie) is having a hard time right now and she definately needs our prayers!!    There is also a family heavy on my heart that has several children and the Mother refuses to let them comne to church.  Last week there was an incident at the school and her 11 years old girl reached out to me for help...I feel so sorry for them cause the children want to come to church so much.   There are sooo many children here in Cannon Ball that are negelcted and just want someone to love them.   Breaks my heart!!!

Doyle and Keith have been working hard remodeling the other mobile home.  Looks like they will be able to move in by the end of this week.  Jennifer has been such a help to me....she does all the cooking which is a BIG load off me.   The kids all like them alot and of course I am thrilled to have my 2 granddaughters here and have promised I will TRY not to spoil the baby too much!!!!

Happy and Busy for the Lord,   Sis. Sheri

We have been extrememly busy the past 3 weeks.  Keith and Jennifer arrived safely and Keith and Doyle are busy trying to get the trailer ready for them to move into by the end of this month.   It is sooo nice to have someone here to stay!!!!  Sunday went really well with around 35 Sunday morning and in the 20's Sunday night.  Thought spring might have finally arrived but today Weather man said we might a "wintery mix" tonight.   We are so ready for warm weather!!!

My mother came with Keith & Jennifer but she is leaving tomorrow to go to my sisters in Arizona.  It has been fun and the Foster Children love her...she would have them spoiled if she was here much longer!!!!    She and I managed to get away for a couple days so I took her to Medora, ND to view the Badlands.  It is always such a beautiful sight!!!   The next day we traveled a little further west into Montana (just to say we had been there) and ate lunch in a very quaint little restaurant in Wibeau, Montana.    Headed home slowly and did a little shopping in some shops in the small towns along the way.    I sure did need the time off and it was a very pleasant break for me.

We would sure love to build this summer but the funds are coming in very slowly.  Right now we are in such a need for more space....praying the Lord will supply the funds needed to start construction soon enough to be able to complete the building before cold weather sets in again.  Help us pray about this.

Summer is going to be a busy time as we want to start some weekly activities for the church youth.  Don't think we have anyone coming up to hold VBS this summer...we will have to think of an alternative to a week long VBS that the 4 of us can do.  Schools are all out by the end of this month so we will have to do some quick planning.

Thanks everyone for your love, prayers and support....it means so much to us.  The Lord knows our hearts and we want Him to be uplifted and glorified in all we do.

Happily serving the Lord..........Sis. Sheri

It is time to "let go".   Zack and Lily are going home today.  We have had them for 6 months and have grown to love them dearly.  Please pray for Gods protection for these 2 precious children.

Last Sunday in October the Lord blessed us with 39 in attendance.  One man that has been telling us he was going to come for 2 years...finally came.  He even came back Sunday night!!!   I am soooo excited about what the Lord is doing here.  We may not be large in number but the ones that are coming are learning more and more about our wonderful Saviour!!!   The kids started practicing their Christmas songs and I hope alot of the parents will come this year for the Program I have planned.

Doyle went to Minneapolis yesterday to pick up our son and his family...they will get here this evening.    I am sooooooo excited.  They will be with us until Nov. 9th.  The weather is suposed to be nice while they are here so we will be able do some visiting here in the village and maybe a little sightseeing.

Still planning on coming home for christmas.  Lupton Drive Baptist Church in Chattanooga,TN has a webpage that will tell you more about this.  Please take time to check it out.    www.homeforchristmasproject.myevent.com

We actually had our 1st blizzard last week!!!  There wasn't much snow accumulation because it was soooo windy.  Started on Tuesday evening and didn't let up until Thursday morning!!!    Karen got a taste of what the winter winds/wind chills will be like as they reached down into the single digits.

A special prayer request....One of Doyle's brother has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is not doing well at all.  Please pray for John Hall when you pray.

Thank you so much for all the prayers that we know are being prayed for the work here in Cannon Ball!!  The Lord is good!!!

Well....2 BUSY weeks have gone by very quickly.   Last weekend we had some ladies from our supporting church in Cove, Arkansas visiting.  They arrived on Friday and we all enjoyed their weekend with us.  Unfortunately they could only stay around until Monday.   We LOVE it when someone comes...especially when they are from a church that supports us.  Helps them to more fully understand the ministry the Lord has given us here in Cannon Ball.   Our attendance last Sunday was 34 and then today we were down to 20.....the Big PowWow in Fort Yates effected us more than the PowWow here in CannonBall.

The 5 children are still here......there are times when we laugh alot and then times when we have to remind each other how blessed we are that God has given us this opportunity!!!   It can get pretty  stressful for 2 "old" people that raised their own children over 15+ years ago!!!

This Saturday a group from Lupton Drive Baptist Church in Chattanooga,TN will arrive.  They are planning classes each evening with the kids along with some fun and games.   The kids are all looking forward to their visit as much as we are.  Will post more about this next week.

Please remember Ms. Angie in prayer.  She hasn't been feeling too well lately and it's been pretty hot so the heat is hard on her.

Thanks for all your love, prayers and support.         Sis. Sheri

Yesterday was a beautiful day and our attendance was better.  We had 27 yesterday morning and 16 last night.  I sure am enjoying using the flannelgraph and the kids listen so well and can answer all my questions!!!

We had a MAJOR turn of events last night.  CPS has placed "5" more children in our home!!!  These are kids that have been coming to church since we started and they are "close to our hearts" so we were happy CPS is allowing them to stay in our home.  Please remember us all in your prayers!!!  We now have 8 children living here!!!!!

With the arrival of the other 5 children....we have some URGENT NEEDS!!!  Clothes, toys, bunk beds, twin size mattresses!!!  Doyle can build the bunk beds for about $75 a set.   We need 3 sets of the bunks and 7 twin mattresses (1 set of bunks has already been built).   Donations for these needs can be sent to our home church so they will be tax deductible or if you prefer you can send it directly to us.  Our address is P.O. Box 42, CannonBall, ND  58528.    Just please note on your donation that it's for our "Urgent Needs".  Clothes ranging from size 4 to 14 (the girls are sizes 4/5, 8 and 14.... the boys are size 6,8,10/12's and 14's.  Of course, you can always collect and ship things to us if you prefer to do it that way.

Thank You so much for your love, prayers and support.    Pray for us daily as we try to make a difference for these children living with us.

I can certainly tell that Summer is here.   Our attendance was down to 16 Sunday morning and 11 Sunday evening.  Some of our people were still sleeping, some gone fishing and others had "more important" things to do on a beautiful sunny day.  In spite of the small number, we had a good day.  Bro. Deason began conducting "Children's Church" for ages 6 and up and that went very well....he preached to them and said they all listened well.   For the first time in a LONG time..I was able to sit in the adult service and listen to my husband preach!!  Ms. Angie, Evangeline and I enjoyed the message very much!!

Once again, continue to help us pray about the Children's Home.  We had an incident happen that made us realize even more how NEEDED a home is. I can't share the details with you on this blog, but you can call if you want more information.   Please pray for all the children here on the reservation.  Life is so hard for them.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.  It means so much to us.   This weekend, beginning Friday, is the Cannon Ball POW WOW...our attendance will definately be affected!!  Pow Wow starts Friday evening and goes through Sunday evening.  Pray for our services.
