Sorry it's been a couple weeks since I posted anything but I've been super busy.  Keith and Jennifer went out of town for a few days and we watched all the kids...which kept me VERY busy!!!    Last Sunday we were blessed with 42 in the morning service!!!  On Thursday evening we had 9 here for Bible Study which was a blessing!!!   Due to the Icy Road conditions we were unable to have services today.  We actually have had our first significant ice and snowy conditions last night and today.  The wind is suposed to pick up tonight which will cause drifts and blowing snow.

There are 2 ladies that need prayers.  Ms. Joshua (she is 80+ yrs. old)fell Thursday and fractued her elbow and broke her hip. They did surgey and put a pin in her hip and she will need physical therapy.  Another lady that lives behind us was in a terrible car accident right after Christmas and was in ICU for several weeks and has now been transferred to another hospital.  We visited her yesterday...she is still in critical condition and needs our prayers!!  Also, the father of one of the little girls that comes to church died from alcohol poisoning....such a waste of a life.  So sad!!!  Remember this little girl and the family he has left behind.

It amazes me at how the Lord supplies for us in some of the most unusual ways.  Wednesday was Food Bank delivery day.  After the delivery came, Doyle was over at the church sorting out the boxes and someone knocked at the church door.  It was the Reservation Game Warden.  He asks if we could use any Elk Meat.  Of course Doyle told him Yes and told him that we had a Food Pantry.  Well.....he said that there was an overabundance of Elk up toward Minot and they had gotten some and taken it to Mobridge and processed it and were giving it away.   They were going to just leave us 1 box but since we had the Food Pantry...they left us "3" boxes which totaled almost 200 POUNDS of FRESH Elk MEAT  (steaks, roasts, ground..ect)!!!!   Praise the Lord...He sure is good to us!!!!!!!!   I had never tasted Elk meat until our friends from Dulce, NM brought us some...and it's really delicious..especially cooked on the grill.

Lord willing and weather permitting, Doyle and I will be taking 3 days off this week for a much needed rest together. It will be the first time in 4 years that we have been anywhere together other than Bismarck!!  We are so Thankful that the Lord sent Keith and Jennifer so this possible.  Before we could not leave the property for fear of vandalism.  We are sooo excited and are going to enjoy the time away together.

Thanking the Lord for ALL he has done,

Sis. Sheri

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day...but I'm very tired!!!    The Todd family from Fort Thompson, SD came up yesterday and Bro. Todd got our Radio Station back on the Air...and it reaches out further than it did before....Praise the Lord!!!!   The Ladies from the church helped cook and we had a delicious Turkey dinner with all the "fixins" including Pumpkin Pie!!....had about 46 people here to eat!!!!   Doyle talked a little and then we had a testimony service and Ms. Angie sang "Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me!!"  It was such a blessing!!!!  We have so much to be Thankful for.  I'll be posting a few pictures of the dinner in a day two.

Hope everyone who reads this had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!!

Tomorrow and Saturday will be extremely busy....the truck arrived Wednesday...so now our job begins as we have to sort through the boxes and get things ready to give away.  Alot of things sent were new and designated as Christmas Gifts for the kids and we sure do appreciate everything!!!  The Lord is so good to us here in Cannon Ball!!!!

Getting ready for a busy weekend,    Sis. Sheri

Our attendance in Sunday morning Service was 19 and in the evening service we had 11.  I had one little boy back that had not been here for awhile.  Normally he is a very happy little boy, always smiling and loved to sing.  But he seemed very depressed and unhappy.  He has been living with his grandmother but they have been homeless for quite sometime and now she is in jail and he is living with someone else.  This is really having an effect on him and is was so sad to see that sparkle out of his eyes and that smile gone.  After the evening service I let a couple of the kids over to the house for awhile (some of the always want to come over aftwerwards) and he was one of them.  I noticed his shoes were very worn with holes at the toes...and I had still had one pair of nice Gym shoes that had been sent with some clothes....and they just happened to be his size. Of course, I gave them to him.  He was SOOOO happy....  Most of the time the kids don't even say Thank You...but he kept telling me Thank You over and over!!!   Please pray for "Javen"...he's such a sweet little boy and his family is nothing but alcoholics that are going to ruin his life.

Also, keep Annie in your prayers.  She overdosed on her medication last Thursday and is in Bismarck hospital.  It looks at though the overdose is going to have a permanent effect on her brain and she may never be the same again.  I went to see her last Friday and it was heartbreaking to see how close she really came to ending her life.  At that time she was pretty incoherent and still in ICU.  As of yesterday, we were told she is being kept sedated because she is still hallucinating and they cannot control her because she tries to fight the nurses.  The medication she took has had time to work it's way out of her system...so it appears that her brain has been damaged.  Sad, heartbreaking situation and the family doesn't seem to be broken over the situation....it's like they don't even care.

We've been to 2 funerals in the past 2 weeks and yesterday afternoon I went to a memorial.  When someone dies, the family holds a Memorial Service for the deceased the following 4 years.  It was almost like another funeral....minus the body.   Then they have a big meal, called a "Feed" and what they call a "give-away" where they give away Star Quilts and all sorts of gifts to people and almost everyone that attends gets something.  I received a tote with 2 blankets, towels, and dish cloths. They do things so different here and we learn something new all the time.

A word of PRAISE......our daughter Elena and her husband James celebrated an anniversary yesterday.....but they also came home and found their garage/workshop on fire.  The Lord protected their home and the fire did not reach it.  But the Garage did burn down completely to the ground.  From what we gather it was caused by a lighting strike.  We are just thankful that they are safe and their home had God's protecting hand on it!!!

Please remember Javen and Annie in your prayers,

Learning the ways of the Sioux,           Sis. Sheri
