We had our Thanksgiving Dinner with the church ppl right after church Sunday morning.  Dinners are always alot of work for me...I not only have to cook but also have to "prepare" my house( living room converts into dining area) since our fellowship hall was turned into a bedroom!!!   There was a total of 29 at church and about 22 of them stayed for lunch so there was a houseful!!   Karen was in the hospital so Doyle and I ended up with Clean-up duty by ourselves.   It was a hectic day but sooo worth it.  I love being able to fellowship with the people.

We have 2 men that are coming now on a pretty regular basis...PRAISE THE LORD!!!  They seem to enjoy it so help us pray they will continue to come.  Ms. Angie fell twice on the ice (not here on the church property)....Doyle told her he was gonna buy her a pair of Football Cleats!!  She is such a blessing to us...pray for her safety this winter.  The past 2 winters she has been on crutches because she would fall on the ice and hurt her hips/legs.    Burdie is still in the hospital and praying she will be home for the Christmas Holidays.  I visited her on Saturday and she was in good spirits even tho her other leg was now giving her problems.  Angie called this evening and told me they had discovered another problem which could be very serious.  Please pray for Burdie.

Well....Zack and Lily went home and we sure miss them.  They have called several times and the mother told me that Lily woke up sick the other night and cried for "Sheri".  The Mom also told me we could visit them.   When CPS picked up Zack and Lily they brought us 2 new little girls ages 3 and 5.  Jada and Charleze....Charleze is the 3 yr. old and has been VERY neglected medically.  I don't know alot about their past but I can tell it has NOT been good.  Charleze has sores all over her body and I took her to the Dr. today and got medicine for her.  They both are very sweet...Jada, the 5 yr. old, talks alot.  About an hour after they got here she ask me if I was a Grandma....I told her yes so she and Charleze both call me Grandma and call DOyle PaPPa.  Now Lexi, the 2 yr. old we have, has started calling Doyle Pappa but she calls me Mama.

I tell you....these kids steal your heart VERY fast.!!!!   Today the Caseworker for 2 of ours told me that she has NO HOMES for 50% of her caseload.  Sad they have to be left where they are left alone 99% of the time to take care of themselves, along with being neglected medically and abused physically.    Breaks my heart.

Pray for the work here and all the children that need someone to love them...........Sis. Sheri

It is time to "let go".   Zack and Lily are going home today.  We have had them for 6 months and have grown to love them dearly.  Please pray for Gods protection for these 2 precious children.

Doyle made it home safely from his visit with the kids/grandkids down south.   I was soooo glad he came home earlier than originally planned.  With the 7 kids I had my hands full....then my dryer quit and my laundry pile was growing quickly!!!!   He also made it home just in time for our first good snowfall....right now we have a bout 6-7 inches on the ground and possibly another 10 inches by Thanksgiving Day.   We had planned on going to Fort Thompson, SD to have Thanksgiving Dinner with our missionary friends....but looks like traveling is going to be too hazardous because of the snow, wind and dangerous wind chills that are being predicted.  Sundays weather did affect our attendance as we had 29 on Sunday morning and about 20 on Sunday night.

Tonight my heart is heavy.  Tomorrow the judge in Childrens Court will decide if he is going to allow 2 of our Foster Children to go home sooner than planned.  We KNOW this home is so unfit and the kids will be negelcted by the parents and abused by their siblings.  I know part of being a Foster Parent is taking the children in and being able to "let go"....but I'm just not ready to let these 2 go because of the Home Life they will have.   PLEASE pray the Judge will make the right decision...and if he does let them go home...pray that the Lord will keep his protecting hand upon them.

Also, please pray for Burdie...the lady I mentioned on my last post.  She is doing better but still has a long, hard rode to recovery ahead.  She is a diabetic which makes things even more serious.  Out 2 new Foster Children are her grandchildren and Burdie was so happy to hear that CPS had placed them with us.  We visited her in the hospital today and were shocked when she told us that she had placed our names (along with one of her daughters) as her Power of Attorney.  The daughter was there when she told us and completely agrees with her Mothers decision.  Things like this just show us that some of the people here trust us even tho we aren't family or Native Americans.  God is sooooo good to us!!!!

Enjoying the beautiful snow that the Lord has sent our way,        Sis. Sheri

We have been VERY busy this week.  Our son and his family arrived Nov. 2nd and stayed until Tuesday, the 9th.  Had a wonderful time with our precious little granddaughters!!!!!   On Saturday 3 of their friends from Minot AFB came down and stayed with us Sat. and for the morning service on Sunday.  Had a total attendance of 46 for the morning service then a delicious meal afterwards!!!

Thursday Doyle had planned on leaving for his trip down south....was delayed but was able to leave this morning.  A lady in the church is in the hospital and things don't look very good for her at all.  They placed her in the ICU yesterday because her kidneys have shut down, blood pressure bottomed out and she has numerous other problems.  Please remember "Burdie" when you pray.

Another reason for the delay is that 2 more children were placed in our home Wed. evening.  We now have 7.  These 2 are ages 4 and 1 1/2.  It's a long story and a touchy situation because they are 2 of the grandchildren that Burdie had custody of.  There are 3 others and I'm not sure if they were removed from the home or not.

I see more and more each day the need for a Childrens Home for the younger kids here on the Reservation.  The caseworker told us that she really had no other home to place these 2 in if we had not taken them.   She agrees that there is a DESPERATE need for a home!!!   Pray that the Lord will open the doors so that we can build one by this coming summer.  We have the land....just not the facilities.

Continue to pray for the growth of the church and for souls to be saved.

Last Sunday in October the Lord blessed us with 39 in attendance.  One man that has been telling us he was going to come for 2 years...finally came.  He even came back Sunday night!!!   I am soooo excited about what the Lord is doing here.  We may not be large in number but the ones that are coming are learning more and more about our wonderful Saviour!!!   The kids started practicing their Christmas songs and I hope alot of the parents will come this year for the Program I have planned.

Doyle went to Minneapolis yesterday to pick up our son and his family...they will get here this evening.    I am sooooooo excited.  They will be with us until Nov. 9th.  The weather is suposed to be nice while they are here so we will be able do some visiting here in the village and maybe a little sightseeing.

Still planning on coming home for christmas.  Lupton Drive Baptist Church in Chattanooga,TN has a webpage that will tell you more about this.  Please take time to check it out.    www.homeforchristmasproject.myevent.com

We actually had our 1st blizzard last week!!!  There wasn't much snow accumulation because it was soooo windy.  Started on Tuesday evening and didn't let up until Thursday morning!!!    Karen got a taste of what the winter winds/wind chills will be like as they reached down into the single digits.

A special prayer request....One of Doyle's brother has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is not doing well at all.  Please pray for John Hall when you pray.

Thank you so much for all the prayers that we know are being prayed for the work here in Cannon Ball!!  The Lord is good!!!
