The past 2 weeks we have truly been blessed. Last Sunday the ladies that come wanted to have a dinner in honor of their Pastor since it was Pastor Appreciation Month. We did....fed all the kids first....took the ones that rode the van home and then I was able to enjoy a dinner with the "adults!!" There were 36 here in the morning and 24 in the evening!!! God is sooooo good!! Our adult attendance is growing which is a blessing!!
This week we had "45" in the morning service and 24 again in the evening service!!!! I have started practicing Christmas songs with the kids. I want to do something a little different this year but not sure quite what that will be yet.....have an idea in mind but need to pray about it a little more. Would like for it to be something that will draw the kids parents and the kids will enjoy doing.
Speaking of Christmas....this year I plan on going home for the holidays....and want to take all 5 of the Foster Children with me. I have discussed the idea with their caseworker and he said it would be OK with him. Also talked with the school principal since they will have to miss a few days of school and he said he would excuse the absences because like me...he felt it would an opportunity that these children may never have again. I would love for them to experience a Christmas that they will never forget!!!! This trip will be rather costly...the plane tickets alone will cost between $1200-1500. If anyone out there wants to help with the expense of the trip it will be greatly appreciated.....I know the Lord will supply this need!!! The sooner I can purchase the plane tickets...the cheaper they will be!!!
Slight chance of snow towards the middle of this week accompanied with high winds bringing our wind chill down to the single digits!!! Some people may think I am a little crazy...but I LOVE the winter!!! I love the excitement of hearing a big snow is on it's way, I love how one minute it's clear and sunny...and the next few minutes it's snowing...I love how you can "hear" the wind coming and I LOVE how the Lord keeps us warm and safe!!!!!
As always with 5 kids in the house...we're headed for a busy week. Had a birthday last Thursday (Tonya turned 9 and she had a birthday party like she has always wanted)...and tomorrow Zack turns 5. After Tonya's party we were trelling Zack that his birthday is next...he looked at us and said "NO MORE CAKE!!!!". This week I have a meeting with the Speech Therapist concerning Zacks low speaking abilities. Pray the we will be able to get him the help he needs.
Waiting for that first snow storm.......Sis. Sheri
