Well....here I am in the South for the Holidays and Doyle is up in Cannon Ball awaiting what might be the first Blizzard of 2009 and I'm going to miss it!!!  Even tho last winter brought us MANY problems....I still loved the snow and it's beautfiul sights!!    But.. I am enjoying my time here with grandkids but sure do miss Doyle and the kids/church family in Cannon Ball!!!   Sunday Morning he said there were 9 present in the service (adults and 2 kids)....he didn't run the Van and pick up all the kids since I wasn't there to have their class.

I was able to go to church with Keith and his family on Sunday morning and speak in a Sunday school class that has "adopted" and corresponds with some of the kids in Cannon Ball.  That was really good because they had alot of questions I tried to answers along with giving them more information about the kids and their daily lives.  On Thursday I spoke at a Morning Prayer Service where Tip Sanders works and then this morning at a Ladies Prayer Group at Philippi Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN.  On Sunday Night I was at our Home Church and was blessed to see a DVD Production that the Kids Wednesday Night Classes had done and it was soooo good!!!!  Can't wait to get home and show it to Doyle and our church family there.

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.  We're very excited about what the Lord has in store for Cannon Ball in 2010.....keep praying for the souls of the Sioux Nation in Cannon Ball and all of Standing Rock Indian Reservation!!!

PS. if you think about it....give my lonely Hubby a quick call Christmas Day ...it's the first time we've ever been apart on Christmas

We woke up this morning to a blanket of fresh snow on the ground which was just beautiful.....God knew that today was the Sunday we were celebrating Christmas with our church family so he gave us an early White Christmas Morning!!!!    We had a total of 33 in the service...23 kids and 10 adults!!  The Children Choir did a great job with all 23 of them singing.  I took a few pictures and will post them on the website for you to see.

This afternoon we delivered boxes of food to some of the families and before we delivered the last box here in the village we decided to take Angie's out to her.  While there she wanted to give us a tour of her new trailer.  They don't have the water hooked up yet so she hasn't been able to move in.  It is a really nice home and she  is giving the Lord all the credit for blessing her with it!!  What a blessing Ms. Angie is to us.

After we left Angie's we delivered the last box here in the village and started home.  Just a couple houses down I saw someone lying on the ground (it's -3 with a -19 wind chill), in the snow....we immediately stopped and Doyle got out to help her.  She couldn't stand up or walk and wouldn't even try to get up so he had to help her into the car.  By then she started crying and saying she couldn't feel her hands.  I recognized her and knew where she lived...so we took her home.  This is a young woman in her early 20's.  Her family helped us get her into the house....she could barely walk and kept crying that she couldn't feel her hands.  We told them they should call an ambulance because she probably had frostbite on her hands, feet, ect.    I don't know how long she had been laying out there in the snow, but with these frigid temperatures I think that within an hour she probably would have been dead.  Now....we can say...IF we had not gone to Angies and taken the time to see her trailer , we wouldn't have seen this lady  -or-  if we had delivered the last box here in the village first, then gone to Angie's and taken a different route home..we wouldn't have seen  this lady.....BUT....I SAY....it was all GOD'S Plan and He allowed us to be GOOD SAMARITANS today and we sure are Thankful that we could be used in this way!!!

Getting ready to FLY Home for the Holidays in the Morning!!!!!!            Sis. Sheri

This was a pretty "rough" Sunday because Doyle and I both were not feeling well with bad colds and throat issues.  I coughed about all night long and could barely talk, and Doyle couldn't sing to lead the singing.  It's days like this that we realize how much we need another couple here to help us.  But the Lord knows....and I know there are other missionaries out there that deal with these same issues.   Our attendance was down somewhat with around 19 Sunday morning and then about the 15 Sunday night.  The weather is really cold but with just a little snow scattered here and there on the ground.  This morning (Monday) it was -1 with a wind chill of -11.  That doesn't seem very cold considering what we were facing this time last year!!!

Pray that we'll both get better quickly...I leave the 14th and want to arrive feeling well so I can enjoy the grandkids!!!
