We had 11 in both the morning and evening service.  The kids that come range from the ages of 2 through 12/13.  It has been a challenge for me to be able to teach them and at the same time maintain control of such a large age span of kids.  They are really not disciplined at home /the parents or grandparents just let them do as they please.  This Sunday there were no adults so we split the group in two.  I taught the younger half and Doyle taught the others and it was so much better...they all learned and it was a much easier day for me.  Doyle said his group was really good and they enjoyed him teaching them.  So we plan on keeping it this way as much as possible.

The transmitter for the radio station has arrived and Bro. Todd (the missionary in South Dakota) is coming sometime next month to get the radio station going for us.  We're really excited about it.  It will be such a tremendous outreach!!   Praise the Lord for answering our prayers and supplying what was needed!!

This morning it is a cold -14!!  A few days it has reached in the high 30's and that feels warm!! Will be glad for Spring to come so we can get outside and work in the yard (which has 3-4 feet of snow right now).

What a beautiful morning....sun shining on the white snow...very little wind.  We had 14 present in the morning service but the evening service we only had 3.  Around here if someone else is having something that includes a meal...everyone goes there.  So...guess that it what happened last evening.  But we still had a good time and encouraging time with a man from Solen named Alex.   He was encouraged and so were we.

This week is supposed to warm up into the 40's and then turn cold again after Thursday.  We will enjoy the slight warm-up!!

Lord willing, we are going to be able to have our own radio station.  Hopefully by the middle of next month that will up and running.  What a blessing it is going to be....it is a small watt station but it will reach the Cannon Ball Village and maybe a little further.  The Lord has blessed and provided for it and we are very anxious to get it going.  Help us pray that those who won't come to church will listen to it.

This morning we had 14 total present in the service and then 6 tonight (that was our lowest attendance so far).  I was told that one of the family of kids that have been coming had moved this afternoon to live with their Dad in Fort Yates (don't know the details other than the Dad got custody of the kids because the Mother couldn't stay sober).

It was not quite as cold today as it has been, we reached 28 degrees.  We have a blizzard warning and by the time church was over, the snow had begun once again and the wind was blowing.  This weather front is supposed to bring the extreme artic cold air that I mentioned yesterday.  This morning one of the girls came to church in shorts, a sleeveless shirt and shoes without socks...She told me she didn't want to put on her winter clothes!!   You'd think her grandmother (where she's staying cause her Mom's in jail) would make sure she was clothed properly.   I have to keep reminding myself that such things as this are common here.

Thanks for all your love and prayers......we appreciate you.          Serving the Lord on the Cold Prairie,   Sis. Sheri

Yes,  we have another winter blizzard watch out for tomorrow night and Monday...then an artic blast of cold air is on it's way and will bring temperatures of 25-35 BELOW zero with wind chills on top of that (probably 50-60 below)!!   So we are bracing ourselves for a VERY COLD week ahead.

Our son-in-law was able to go home from the hospital today.  He is doing OK but still in alot of pain and has a long few weeks of therapy ahead of him.   Please keep him in your prayers.

Yesterday and today we had a good bit of snow (we have a total of about 15-18 inches or so and drifts up to our waist)  and Doyle sure is thankful for the snow blower.  He even got a little help today from the county.  They were grading the snow off the main road and saw us outside...so they pulled into the church parking lot and quickly pushed the snow out of the way so cars can get into the parking lot easy!!   Made a HUGE pile of snow!!!   We were surprised that they helped out and praising the Lord for sending them this way!!!!

Looking forward to tomorrows services..              Sis. Sheri

Please pray for our son-in-law, James Collier (our daughter Elena's husband).   He is having surgery at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN this afternoon for a Knee Replacement.  She's a little concerned about him being put to sleep again so please make this a matter of prayer today!!

I took 3 up close pictures of the snow blower and put them  (along with the 2 videos) on picasa in a new album titled "Snow Blower".  We've had several people ask us what it looks like and how it works....here's the answer to those questions.

We visited Tex and Marie today.  He was really glad to see us and Marie talked like she was coming to church again.  Pray that they do.

I can't really tell everything that goes on here for sounding like a broken record....but my heart is more burdened every day for the people here and for the kids that have to live under such terrible circumstances.  It would be hard to convey just how bad it really is and not just in one or two homes....but probably 90% of them.

Please pray for the Native Americans!!          Sis. Sheri

Doyle was able to go purchase the snow blower today and I in the process of posting some pictures of it in our Picasa web album titled "Our First Winter".  Three of the photos are videos so you can see the blower at work.  Bella sure enjoyed chasing the snow as it blowed.  She is usually at my side all the time, but when I got the door to come inside, she didn't want to come in with me...wanted to stay outside and play.   The wind has picked up this evening but at least Doyle won't have to think about re-shoveling his trails again thanks to all of you who donated for the snow blower.

We really appreciate it and love all of you.

Our first Sunday in 2009 we had 14 in attendance in the AM and 11 this evening.  My heart is especially burdened for the children here because of the things they have to witness at home.    They tell me about fights and drunkenness in their homes.  One Sunday I was teaching about what the Bible says about money and ask them what they would do if someone gave them some money...one boy quickly answered and said he would buy food with it.   Today one of the little girls asked me several times if she could please come and live with me (her mother had been beaten up this past week).  It is hard to put into the words what kind of home life these kids have!!!  What is really sad is that they think this is what a home and family is supposed to be like.....!!!!

On a more positive note,  we had asked you to help pray about the funds for a snow blower.  Praise the Lord, He has answered that prayer!!  As soon as Doyle goes and purchases the snow blower I will take pictures and post them on our website so you can see it at work!!!!  Thank You to all those that donated...we (Doyle) really appreciates it and love you for it.   I (Sheri) reaaaaaly appreciate it because Doyle was threatening to buy me a shovel!!!!!

I have mentioned Marie and Tex alot in the past but not much recently.  Marie has fallen back into her old habits of drinking.  It is really heartbreaking to see the hold alcohol can have on a person and the lives that are destroyed as a result.   We are praying for Marie and ask you to do the same.

We have our first donation for the snow blower.  One of our supporters called tonight and said they would start the fund with a $100.00 donation....Praise the Lord!!!  A medium range snow blower will cost around $500 dollars.  We know the Lord is able to raise that amount so help us pray about it!!

Looking forward to our first Sunday Services in 2009!!!        Sis. Sheri
